Types Of Marble

Physical Properties

  • Primary Mineral: Calcite (CaCO₃)

  • Secondary Minerals: Clay, micas, quartz, pyrite, graphite, and iron oxides

  • Formation: From the metamorphism of limestone, where recrystallization of calcite creates interlocking crystals giving marble its shine and smoothness.

Carrara Marble:
